Once upon a time, I was a girl who enjoyed writing.
Funny thing about doing what we enjoy - it usually falls to the wayside when life hands us WAY more things we're 'supposed' to get done.
It's been well over a year since my last blog post and I could give a multitude of excuses but I'm thinking cutting excuses from my repertoire is going to become one of my resolutions.
Yes, I've been busy. I started this blog with the intention of sharing all our great stories from our trip to Honduras last year and we've actually been back since. I have a whole week's worth of new stories and have yet to finish the week we had in 2010.
Here's the thing: life has been happening so fast, I think blogging will help me keep track of our adventures. Well, blogging & Facebook's new timeline feature. Something FB introduced that I actually like.
SO. To start off on the right foot, here's my list of plans for 2012:
1. Run a marathon. After completing my race goal in 2011, I think this is absolutely attainable.
2. Write more. People have always told me I should write & you know what? I want a book with my name in Barnes & Noble someday. And at Target with one of those "30% off list price" stickers.
3. Lose 15lbs by my 30th birthday. I lost 15 last year, I can do it again this year.
4. Raise some serious $$ for Our Father's Children. It's time to buckle down & make things happen.
5. Sew my first quilt. Granted, it'll be a t-shirt quilt, but it'll be my first!
6. Visit my sister at school. Because I'm lame & have yet to visit her anywhere post-HS graduation.
7. Hunt. Yes, hunt. With my husband.
8. Get my concealed permit - because I passed hunter's safety & should be able to carry a gun.
9. Pray consistently. This should improve since Calvin & I started a year-long devo.
10. Start a faith-based fitness accountability group. With my girlfriends. Because I need it.
Awesome. I was able to list 10. I hope anyone who reads this finds new leaves of their own that need turning over and can make a list to improve in 2012. We all need tweaks every now & then - if you didn't start two days ago, why not start now?
